About Mod Hob

Our Name & Ethos

Mod Hob stands for Modern Hobbies

As Solarpunk creators, we want to build a sustainable future interconnected with nature and community.

We live small on ego, big on storytelling, big-picture thinking, and lifelong learning.

We don’t seek power or dominance. We study and redesign the systems that produce them.

We are a Learning Organization

Inspired by Peter Senge’s The Fifth Discipline, we are building a co-operative where we expand our capacity to create desired results by nurturing interdisciplinary patterns of thinking, and mastering the art of learning together.

Our Vision

We believe effective change happens when common purpose comes before individual profit.

We envision a global network of interdependent individuals and cooperatives rooted in creativity, collaboration, and care for the planet.

Our Work

Our team brings expertise across education, language and literature, mental health, design, product strategy, and software development.

We design our products and services based on the needs and challenges we identify in the current systems and norms of work, education, and culture.

Together, we’re building:

  • PlotWeaver: Cards of Creation, a tabletop and online modular storytelling game
  • An effort-based co-op member contribution and revenue-sharing system
  • A project design and management framework rooted in equity and transparency
  • Open-source infrastructure to power collaborative work

Our Growing Impact

As we grow, we’ll launch more tools and systems that help people learn, connect, and create meaningful change. Each tool strengthens the foundation for others, building an ecosystem of collaborative innovation.
